About The Competition

The Babalola’s Law Dictionary Quiz Competition

The Babalola’s Law Dictionary Quiz Competition is an annual event for young lawyers between 0 – 5 years’ post call to compete for various cash prizes by displaying their deep knowledge and understanding of legal terminologies as defined by the Nigerian courts over the years especially as reported in the Babalola’s Law Dictionary edited by Olumide Babalola.

Apart from the knowledge that the event imparts, provision is also made for cash and other consolation prizes as part of the welfare package for the participants. By institutionalizing this annual competition, we seek to achieve the following objectives:


Deepen the knowledge, study and discourse of legal terminologies among young lawyers


Serve as another platform for continuing legal education among young lawyers


Serve as an avenue to encourage and improve the welfare of young lawyers especially with the prizes to be won and potential career opportunities open to the successful participants.


Reward the study, mastery and improved knowledge of legal terminologies among young lawyers

How to Enter the Competition

Only Nigerian lawyers of 0 to 5 years post call are eligible to enter the competition by filling our the entry form provided here.

Shortlisted contestants shall be contacted and invited for the qualifying round which is also a quiz competition for the emergence of 10 finalists who will take part in the final competition to be held in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Entry opens on the 7th day of January 2019 and closes on the 30th day of March 2019.

Qualifying rounds hold in Lagos between 5th and 12th April 2019.

Finals hold on the 7th day of June 2018 at a venue to be announced in April 2019.
